His Sloe Screw: The Cocktail Girls Read online

Page 7

We kissed goodbye and I was plunged back into reality that hit me like a bucket of cold water to the face.

Being without Kitty by my side already felt strange and foreign to me, as if we’d already grown that tight bond in such a short time.

I applied the final coat of varnish to the wood just before hauling it out to the bar. Even though the club was open twenty four hours, I was given only an hour to make the change.

I chatted with a couple of the girls on service that day and talked to the women behind the bar as I used my tools to tear up the old one.

In no time flat I had the gorgeous new cedar bar in place, fixed it tight, and it was done…and it looked fantastic if I might say so myself.

Prison might have done me wrong in a lot of ways, but giving me a new profession was the one thing it did good. I could earn an honest living and care for my kitten, that’s what it meant to me. It meant everything.

I was cleaning up the back room when I sensed an almost electric current in the room and stood straight to see what was going on.

I heard a soft noise and turned around to find my kitten standing in the doorway watching me work.

“I missed you, Hatch,” she said in a low voice. “Fuck, did I miss you. It’s crazy though, isn’t it? We’ve only known each other a short time but I feel like I’ve known you forever. Like I’ve had you in my life forever.”

“I feel it too,” I said, wiping my hands on a cloth and striding across the room to stand in front of her. “God dammit, kitten, do I feel it. You’re in my bones and in my blood, you’re part of me now.”

“Oh god, I was so scared you’d think I was crazy for talking like this,” she said, her words spilling out. “I kept thinking about you the whole time I was gone, and how much I wanted to be with you. And how much I wanted to find out what our future held in store. And how much living we have to do…together.”

“Never think you’re crazy for acknowledging what’s real. This is real, what we have in front of us…it’s real. You’re mine, and your heart belongs to me…but I’m yours too, kitten. I’ll be yours until the end of time.”

She looked up at me with wet eyes, I could see tears forming in the corners and her lips quivered with emotion. “Oh Hatch,” was all she said before I kissed her.

And I kissed her with meaning this time, not that I hadn’t kissed her with passion before, but this time my intent was clear. I wanted her as my woman, and our lips crashing together was more than passion, it was a promise.

We could only kiss for a moment before work called and Kitty had to start her shift.

We also still shared the unspoken awkwardness of what to do about our relationship in front of those at the club. Did we let the girls know? The cocktail waitresses?

And what about Kitty’s Uncle Max? Was she ready for her family to know that she was hooking up with a former inmate, ex biker gang member?

I wasn’t worried about my family, I’d been orphaned long ago and had spent my life bouncing from one foster home to the other. By the time I was a teen, the only option for me had been a group home where I’d been cherry picked by Birdie, the head of the local chapter of the Blood Soldiers.

I’d been chosen for my size and fighting ability, and my unwavering sense of loyalty. They’d slowly groomed me into the life of crime I’d gotten so used to in the years between then and prison.

But I was tired. I wanted a clean life and I wanted to spend it with Kitty. So if her family rejected me because of my past, I didn’t know what I would do. I would have to work and do what it took to prove my love to them, my love for Kitty.

Whatever it took, I was willing to do it.

  She was worth it.

After I finished cleaning up, I met with Max to go over the work I’d done and pick up my check. He was more than pleased with the final outcome and when he called Kitty over to inspect the bar top, he asked, “What do you think, my most picky of nieces?”

“I love it,” she said with a sly look at me. “It’s magnificent, you really knew what piece of wood to choose, Uncle Max.”

“Yes, the wood was perfect. Nice and thick, extra hard. It can take a lot of pounding and hold up, not like that other piece,” Max replied and I felt laughter building up in my chest.

I dared to glance at Kitty and saw her eyes filled with laughter as she listened to her uncle make unwitting sexual innuendos about the bar top I’d just created.

She finally couldn’t hold it in any longer, she snorted and I lost it too, laughing until she finally calmed down and we looked at Max who stared at us like we’d lost our minds.

“You two are drunk or something,” he grumbled and waved his hand dismissively and walked away to the back where he had his office.

I leaned across the bar and looked at Kitty. “When are you off?”

“Four more hours,” she said and rolled her eyes. “I want to leave now though, this is bull shit.”

“It gives me time to go home and change, then come back here and watch you work. You know I love it when you drop an olive and have to bend over and pick it up,” I said with a grin.

“I’ll see you when you get back,” she said and glanced around at the people sitting around the bar, the cocktail waitresses and customers who all seemed to be watching us at that moment. I thought she was going to high five me or something, but she startled me with her next move.

She grabbed my shirt, pulled me across even closer to her, and kissed me full on the lips in front of everyone.

When we broke apart, I caught glimpses of admiration on the faces of the women and envy on the faces of the men.

As I left the club I felt like I’d grown a couple feet taller. Being kissed in public meant we were official, Kitty made it official.

And god damn, it felt good.

  Kitty

I watched Hatch walk away and enjoyed the view of his perfect ass clad in tight blue jeans as he moved through the club.

I smiled to myself as I watched every female in the club, both customers and cocktail waitresses, admire the same view that I was.

I think I even saw a couple guys turning their heads, Hatch had that effect on everyone.

He was one hell of an impressive man.

  And he was all mine.

I turned to somebody waving a few bills in my direction, fixed a smile on my face, and asked him how I could help him.

From that moment on my night was split between Hatch and the people in front of me. Hatch wasn’t around, but I couldn’t help but have half my mind wherever he was. The other half paid attention, well as much as I could, I did mess up more than a couple drink orders.

“You seem extremely distracted,” Scarlett, one of the cocktail waitresses asked as she caught me in a daydream. She leaned across the bar, her red hair shining in the lights above, and whispered, “Is it a man? You have that look, like it’s a man.”

I actually blushed, I was feeling bashful at her guessing correctly. I was about to deny it, but Lucy came striding up, flipping her blonde curls. “It’s gotta be that carpenter,” she giggled. “I’ve never seen big bad Kitty this goofy for anyone before.”

“Come on you guys, I would never get giddy over a dude,” I replied and arched my eyebrow. “I’m not that man crazy.”

“You’re not man crazy, you’re one specific man crazy,” Scarlett quipped, turned with her tray of drinks and shot me a knowing grin before she left to serve her table.

Lucy added her own knowing grin before heading off with her tray. I rolled my eyes at both of them, but they knew. I knew, it felt like everybody knew.

Except for my uncle Max and my dad. I wasn’t quite ready to let them in on this little secret.

Time crawled until my shift was almost over and I finally looked up to see Hatch strolling across the club towards me. People parted in front of him, opening up a clear path for him to get to me, as if he were royalty or a celebrity.

He walked like he was though, he strutte
d, knowing all eyes were on him.

My breath caught in my chest and I couldn’t help but let a wide grin stretch my lips in what I was sure had to be the least attractive look on me. I wasn’t the grinning type, and yet there I was, grinning like a fool for Hatch.

“I told you,” Scarlett said to Lucy and a couple other waitresses. They all tittered with laughter and watched as Hatch approached the bar.

“Hey, kitten,” he said and slid onto a stool. He leaned forward crossed his arms on my bar and I felt myself literally ogling his muscular, tattooed forearms.

I loved good, muscled forearms with veins and tats and my god, Hatch was basically everything I loved all wrapped up in a smoking hot package.

“Hey you,” I replied, doing my best to play it cool. I was wiping a lowball glass with a cloth and found that focusing on the work kept me from leaping over the bar to slip into his arms.

“What time do you get off?” he asked and stared at me with the sweetest schoolboy crush in his eyes. Until they flicked down to my breasts, where they began to smolder like a slow burning fire.

“As soon as you get your hands on me,” I laughed and watched his eyes widen in surprise.

“You’re a playful kitten, I wonder what got into you?”

“I think you know exactly what got into me,” I replied in a low voice and moved close to him so he could hear me clearly. “I think you know very well what got into me several times last night.”

Hatch shifted uncomfortably and I knew he’d just gotten very hard inside his tight blue jeans…and that made me extremely happy.

“So…when are you off again, and how soon can we get naked together?”

I shifted my eyes around to see if anyone had been paying attention and suddenly realized I no longer cared.

I didn’t care who knew that I was falling in love with Hatch, it wasn’t anyone’s business, but even if they made it theirs…who cared?

I leaned across and surprised him with a kiss on the lips. He grabbed the back of my head and wouldn’t let me go, kissed me harder and left me breathless with weak knees as he pulled away.

Scarlett clapped and Lucy laughed, a few of the other cocktail waitresses joined in telling each other they knew something had been going on, and in the midst of it all I only had eyes for Hatch.

We were officially off the market it seemed, out in public as a couple, and I couldn’t be happier.

“I guess I’m done now,” I said and wiped my hands on the cloth after setting the glass down under the counter. “I mean, I could probably work another hour or two but I don’t want to.”

His kiss had woken something inside of me again, the moment his lips had touched mine, my body had fired up and all reason had gone to the winds where it belonged.

Only lust and love ruled me now, and it commanded me to leave the club and take Hatch upstairs to my place. I couldn’t stand the long drive back to his, out to the suburbs. Waiting that long would be the death of me.

“Aren’t you going to get me a drink first?” His eyes glittered with amusement.

“What would you like?” I asked, a little taken back.

“How about a nice, sloe screw?” His voice rumbled in his chest when he said it and I thought I was going to orgasm right then and there at his words.

“What makes you want that?” I asked.

“It’s your favorite drink, isn’t it?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

I hesitated and narrowed my eyes. “You know it isn’t, don’t you?”

“I knew the moment you said it, kitten,” he chuckled lazily. “I just didn’t want to say anything because you looked so into it when I guessed that one.”

“I don’t really have a favorite, you know. I like wine.”

“I like beer. And whiskey. And you.”

I smiled and reached across the bar, grabbed his shirt and pulled him close for a kiss. As his lips touched mine again, the world fell away and I didn’t care who saw what was happening.

He was mine, I was his, and nobody else mattered.

  Hatch

I broke away from Kitty’s hot mouth and almost groaned at the torture it was to be apart from her.

She looked surprised, her eyes widened and she asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I need you now,” I said, my voice almost a growl. I glanced down to the end of the bar and motioned for her to come with me. “We need to get somewhere I can be alone with you or else I’m going to fuck you right here on the bar that I built.”

She looked at her fellow bartenders and said, “Uh, yeah, I’m leaving now.”

I met her at the end of the bar, she jumped into my arms and I kissed her again. There was a group of cocktail waitresses standing nearby and a tall red head laughed, held out her hand and said, “I told you guys, she’s hot for the biker carpenter. Pay up.”

Kitty turned towards them, kicked her legs and said, “You girls had a bet going?”

“Hell yeah, and I won,” the red head grinned.

Kitty laughed, shook her head and looked at me. “Let’s get out of here. My place is upstairs. My father is out so we can make a little noise.”

“We’re gonna make a lot of noise, kitten,” I replied and crossed the club in long strides, found the elevator and held her in my arms the entire way up.

She pushed the penthouse button, keyed in a code, and we kissed like two horny teenagers on prom night the entire ride. The elevator finally stopped, the door opened and I set her down so she could open the door to her suite at what felt like the top of the world.

I will admit when we stepped through and I saw all of Vegas spread out beneath us, I felt a little like a slack jawed yokel coming into the big city for the first time.

“I know, it’s a bit much,” she said, watching me closely. “I hate how dramatic my father likes to be. He’s very over the top in all things.”

“You never said what he does,” I replied, taking in all the lavish furnishings and artwork. “Some kind of hotel development, I imagine.”

“Something like that,” she said and bit her lower lip. “Come to my room and I’ll tell you all about it.”

“That boring or that dangerous?” I asked, only half joking when I saw her wince at my second suggestion.

She took my hand and I followed close behind, the dutiful boyfriend. In reality I was still feeling more than a little like a bull in a china shop. All the elegant monied furnishings made me a little jumpy, like they’d all come crashing down if I looked at them funny.

Kitty began to strip the moment the door closed and I joined her but she turned around suddenly and looked me up and down. “He’s a crime boss.”

  “Sorry?”

“My father, he’s a crime boss. He runs illegal activities all over the state and probably the country. He launders the money through the casinos here.”

“That’s…a lot to take in,” I said slowly as I absorbed the information. “I’m on parole, you know that, right?”

She nodded and kept her gaze locked on me, concern flittered across her delicate features.

“I was allowed to come to Nevada but one of the biggest considerations is that I have to stay clean. And stay away from people involved in…well, basically the shit your father is up to.”

“Are you saying you can’t be with me?” Her chin wrinkled and her lower lip quivered as she dropped her eyes.

“That’s not it at all,” I said and pulled her into my arms. “I didn’t mean you, kitten. I meant I have to take a step back from the hotel and probably the club.”

She visibly relaxed and looked up at me again, her eyes lined with tears but her face happy once more. “Now that I can handle. I’ve been trying to get away from my father for months and months now.”

“Let’s go away together, kitten,” I said, cradling her face in my hand, running my thumb along her jawline. “Come with me.”

  “Where to?”

“Anywhere…well, within the terms of my parole,”
I chuckled. “So either somewhere in Nevada other than Las Vegas or back to California.”

“California then, I wouldn’t mind leaving here and winding up there.”

“California it is, then, kitten,” I said and bent to kiss her.

Our hands frantically tore at the last of our clothing and I lifted her in my arms again, felt her legs wrap around me as I slid deep inside of her, like we’d been doing this very move for years together.

Our bodies already knew each other it seemed, they recognized each other as if we’d been seeking solace in each other’s arms our entire lives.

I moved towards her bed, sat on the edge, never leaving the tight, wet heat of her pussy, and let her rock against me.

“Kitten…” I groaned and let her twist and writhe in my arms, grind her pussy onto my throbbing cock, working me and squeezing me tight.

“You’re so massive,” she gasped and rocked faster, harder against me.

I felt like I was going to explode but I managed to keep it together long enough to pull her closer and kiss her shoulder. She sighed and arched her back, her long hair swinging down and brushing my arms as I held her tight.

“I’m going to come, kitten,” I growled and nipped at her flesh. She shivered and gasped, twisted in my arms but I wouldn’t let her move, I held her impaled on my pulsing cock, ready to receive my load. “I’m gonna fill you up, flood that sweet cunt of yours, mark you as mine.”

“Oh Hatch, do it…come deep inside of me, I want to feel your hot cum spilling out of me, slick down my thighs…please…”

Her cunt spasmed around me, I thrust upwards once again, hard and deep, and let myself unleash the pent up passion in my balls, my body.

I exploded, shooting thick streams of cum into her waiting pussy. She groaned and milked my balls until they were dry, I had nothing left.

We held each other and I slipped slowly back into the bed, carrying her with me. She went completely limp, her limbs boneless and devoid of any energy. All she had left was a satisfied smile that she shot in my direction.
